The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has been introduced in Puthimari College for both boys and girls (Senior Division) in 2017.It is running under 30 Assam Engr Coy NCC, GUWAHATI-13.Ms.Sujata Hati Baruah, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science has been acting as the Care Taker Officer since then. The present strength of the NCC Cadets(Army Wing) of the college is 50.




The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership  qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the nation  regardless of which career they choose. Needles to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.



•  To create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation

•  To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.

•  To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.




Since the introduction of NCC (Army Wing) in the college from November,2017; regular classes and training sessions have been conducted in the college in association with 30 Assam Engr Coy, NCC,. GUWAHATI-13 . A few cadets of the college participated in the training camp held in January,2018 at the Jalukbari Engineering campus. After successful completion of the training, the cadets shall be awarded with ‘B’ and ‘C’ level certificates. The NCC group is planning to organise an eye-donation camp at the college premises in the month of February,2018.
